I doubt I will attend the 2010 ADZPCTKO so will miss seeing it there.?
I'm having a hard time visualizing your setup so a picture or two would be nice.?
?
I have an old Kelty quick release stainless steel buckle from the 70's. I made a new front half of the waist belt for my old A16 frame so I could use the quick release buckle and it really is neat. Just a simple flip and the buckle is loose and I can lower the pack. Also very fast and easy to fasten when I put the pack back on. I don't know how one could make a lighter version except make it from titanium. I don't know how much weight that would save. Maybe someone here has an idea for that or for a similar buckle for todays' light weight gear.?
?
I like to sleep out "cowboy style" when the weather permits. It's nothing new. Most BPers did back in the 70's. Good old days??

I hike almost every morning with it.? Not long, but it gives it a good shake down.? This buckle helper is really very simple.? I really think that if this concept was incorporated into the nylon webbing of the waist belt buckle area, it would be revolutionary.? And the weight gain to the pack would measured in a few ounces and the benefits would be?mind blowing in using the potential of the waist belt - which is in the Neanderthal stages of development.?

> If you look at the waist belts of packs 40 years ago and then look at them today, there is very little difference.? Maybe the materials today a little lighter? and techie.? Or may be they are a little heavier too!? We are in the 21st Century.? This whole thing is embarrassing to the hiking community and gear manufacturers.???
