As I told another user, I have to get on my ass (as opposed to off. :D) and type up this stuff Monday.

In brief, if you start at Kingsbury North (like I did), Tahoe City is 77 miles up the trail going counter-clockwise.
There is a Savers *maybe* .25 off the trail Full resupply.

Further along the trail (approx 50 miles) there is Echo Lake Resort that is also on-trail with a very small resupply offerings. They have beer and milkshakes, though!

They also accept mail drops. I managed to eek out two days of food with my very non-picky appetite. If I was to need a longer resupply, I would have mail dropped it. Because the 'post office' is really the general store, you can get your packages at any time (if you ask nicely. :) One hiker did that. )

YOUR NAME HERE
Echo Lake Resort

Please hold for TRT hiker

Naturally, these miles will change depending where you start on the trail as it is a loop.

If you want to hitch, there are smaller towns along the way that are accessible (i.e. Incline Village for example)..but assuming the average hiker does 15 MPD (pretty chill pace), I don't think you need more than a resupply in Echo Lake and Tahoe Village.

SKEETERS: Around Barker Pass to just north of Dick's Pass - FRICKIN AWFUL!!!!!!

Just after that? Not bad at all, esp once I entered the drier Carson Mtns. Of course, this was late June with lots of snow melt.

TEMPS: Very hot in the day. Moderately cool at night.

WATER:

The northern half of the trail (from Kingsbury N to Tahoe Meadows essentially) was quite dry. IIRC, there was ~20 mile stretch w/o water at one point (my first day. :D) Once past Tahoe Meadows, water is not an issue. This info is going counter-clockwise.

I will have something more formal typed up on my website by Monday evening (along with maps you need, guidebooks, overall advice, etc.)

As always, if you have additional questions, please let me know!
