I hiked up the Eagle Creek trail to Wahtum Lake and down the PCT to Cascade Locks yesterday. I got as high as 4300 feet and there was not a trace of snow or even damp ground to be found. The mosquitoes at Wahtum are out in their usual division strength; avoid camping there. Aim for Camp Smokey (and it's nearby spring) up on the Benson Plateau.
