[pct-l] disposing of fuel canisters?

I just empty them completely - either from actual use (rarely am I this efficient) or by allowing the final gasps to escape via an unlit stove -  and toss them in the nearest trash can. They were made to be disposable.


I scratch a mark on my canister after each 1 liter boil so I can estimate what's left. I've found that the large 12 oz canister holds about 11 boils; the smaller 8 oz holds about 8. I plan my resupply accordingly.
