Tehachapi is a much nicer town and easier to get a ride...there are trail angels there to that will pick u up and drop u off at the TH

Day's Inn.  It's mentioned in the list here -

and also in the Yogi book.

The people who provide the rides are not always around, you might call
and find that the case as I did.  So maybe call ahead if you can and
see what the deal is.  Also, the Day's Inn is notably more expensive
than some other options, but might be worth it just for the ride.

The hitch on Oak Creek Road is the one I'm least looking forward to.
Most traffic seemed to be big trucks going to a crushed rock plant (or
something like that) a few miles down the road.
