To get to Black Mountain Road you might need to hitch a ride from  
town. It's several miles away and the highway that goes to the start  
of the road is not good for walking. But Idyllwild is a great town,  
shouldn't be too hard to hitch a ride. This is the route that a lot of  
people took in '05.
