Rudolf the Ultra-lite Backpacker
 
Rudolf the ultra-lite backpacker
Only used equipment that was ultra-light
And if you ever saw him
You would say he packs just right!
 
All of the other backpackers 
used to say he was insane.
They all worried that poor Rudolf 
wasn’t prepared for cold, snow or rain!
 
Then one blistery Sierra-Nevada day
He learned about the PCT-L and the PCTA.
Now Rudolf is not only packing light,
He’s cowboy camping or using a poncho-tarp at night
 
With alcohol stove and fome-core sleep pad
Rudolf hikes the trail with glee
He isn’t even much bothered by his bear canister
That he hauls along through Yosemite.
