[pct-l] Public Announcement - PCT Training Expedition

I will be challenging an unmerciful Mother Nature starting this Friday to test out new gear ideas and?hiking kit.? Switchback will be alone and?unafraid.? This will not be some candy hike at low altitude but high up in the Springs Mountains?National Recreation Area at 8,500 feet.? Up where weather can change instantly to put the hiker in dire situations.? Slow death by?exposure is a possibility.

Yes, Switchback will unselfishly put himself in jeopardy for the good of the hiking community to test new gear ideas at the raw edge of light weight backpacking and safety.? Bears and mountain lions roam this area.? I will not be at the top of the food chain.? ?

Hopefully an After Action Report will be coming after this reckless disregard to personal safety and well- being for the sake of backpackerdom.? I know your prayers and best wishes go with me as I step into the unknown.
