Got up around five this morning and wanted to do some hiking up in the
Cascades around Snoqualmie Pass Area. Got on the trail head around seven and
started my climb up with my dog Zap. I was expecting to do around eleven miles
round trip.
There were no cars at the trail head .The fog/mist was all around me as I
started up. I startled a few deer and several chipmunks; even a squirrel as day
break started to light up the forest. Then I went thru the clouds as I
meandered along the trail still going up not a soul in sight. Gradually I broke
through the clouds and sun rays started to slitter through the trees.
As I reached the top I had to resorted to hand and foot over rocks with Zap
tagging along. I
then saw the most unbelievable sight I had ever seen as I looked down .
The clouds were flowing like a slow moving river without a ripple, almost as
smooth as ice, between me and the peak which broke thru clouds to the east. The
sun shining over the peak to the east causing a reflection of the peak on
the clouds below, just as you would see the refection of a mountain on a
lake. This is a close to heaven you can get. And me with out my camera.
As I went thru Zap's and my journey with you don't take Zap my dog for
granted. Watch this short video about a dog named Skidboot and see what love
between man/women and dog can do.
