Good evening, T-Gravy,

Here is some information on the use of a bear 'can.
http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=265401

With Calorie-dense items you can arguably get 6-8 day's food for one person
in a standard-size 'can; maybe a bit more for a light eater with a
low-mileage schedule. Three people for 7-8 days in one 'can? Not a chance.

They're easy to use. Keep it locked except when taking or putting; leave it
out at night away from your sleeping area; don't put it in anything a bear
could grasp with its teeth; and sleep well.
