[pct-l] Mono Hot Springs to Independence/Bishop?

This is a tough one, perhaps one of the toughest due to the size of the range and the roadless aspect of it. I just did these drives a few weeks ago: up and back to Independence for the drop-off, and the same for the stretch up to Edison Lake/VVR. VVR is a long drive from anywhere on a very interesting one-lane road, though it looks like a decent place for a hitch out. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) would be the first road that would cross through the mountains, so YARTS www.yarts.com would be your best bet there. On the eastern side, you'd need the CREST bus www.easternsierratransitauthority.com to get from Hwy 120 back to Independence. Then there's the matter of the hitch back up to the trailhead in Onion Valley . . .

So, to the best of my knowledge, there is no easy way to do this. All part of the special challenges of section hiking!
