If you're at Whitney Portal for breakfast, order one pancake. It will
feed a family. You can get it with eggs and sausage on top and then head
up the trail with your belly stuffed.

I enjoy the Still Life Café in Independence, but you have to go with the
idea it will take a while as it's just mom and dad and everything is
cooked fresh. Who expected fine French cuisine in Independence?

The best food in Lee Vining is at the Mobil gas station just south of
town on Tioga Pass Road - the Whoa Nellie Deli. I like their steak
sandwiches. They also have live music some summer nights.
