I found that when things got really bad, my Columbia Rain Suit (jacket and pants) were just the ticket. The mosquitoes couldn't drill through them. It wasn't the most comfortable thing to wear while hiking, and if it was hot, my bug suit made it even hotter, but it was better than being eaten alive by mosquitoes!
