[pct-l] List of what I might need to take with me?

As already mentioned, there are alot of good lists in people's journals.  A 
couple of suggestions to add to what has already been discussed is:
    1.  get out and use your gear beforehand, to make sure it works the way 
you want it to, and that you really, really need it.
    2.  get a postal scale (you can pick up a cheap digital one that weighs 
items up to 50 lbs for about $20) and weigh everything you think you want to 
take.  Things that don't seem like a big deal add up to poundage overall. 
I've found the scale has made a big difference in some of my choices.
