The newly created Tejon Ranch Conservancy ("TRC") will be establishing
guidelines that the public should follow. I'll wager that it's not going to
be a free-for-all access to the ranch; there are fragile ecosystems and
wildlife, like the endangered California Condor, that need to be addressed
appropriately as access to the public is granted. FYI, the president of the
new conservancy represented the California Audubon Society in the
conservancy negotiations. Other members of the TRC are from major
conservation-minded organizations.

So, in light of this historic agreement with Tejon Ranch, does this mean
that I can LEGALLY set foot there in 2009? Also, does anyone know the
proposed route the Forest Service came up with in the Tehachapi Mountains
before giving up due to the private owners opposition and locating the trail
below?
Though it probably isn't realistic, but I was just wondering if it would be
possible to use an outdated federal topo map and compass and bushwack one's
way across next spring without being arrested/shot at?
