[pct-l] Being joined by friends

While it is hard to describe an ideal solution, here are some suggestions:
first, explain how you can't know where you will be when due to your
condition, trail conditions, weather, etc.
then explain how you MUST do high-mile days in order to reach your goal of
completing a thru hike and that cutting back your pace for a week would
hurt your chances for completing this year. It would be like taking a week
off to do something else.
if the above doesn't work, then you must either tell them you'll hike with
them another time.
