[pct-l] Holcomb Creek crossing Detour

All I know is what's on the San Bernardino NF website. (And I do know
that some USFS websites don't get updated as often as they should,
although San Berdoo seems better than most.)

They have a closure map at
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/documents/butler_closure_map111307
.pdf . It is interesting that this map says that the PCT detour is
Polique Canyon Road (2N09) to Holcomb Valley Road (3N16), but that the
area containing the PCT from Polique Canyon to Little Bear Trail Camp
has "all roads closed to motor vehicles and mtn bikes", saying nothing
about hikers. Therefore, might it be possible to follow the PCT to
Little Bear Trail Camp (or the site of it, since it burnt), then follow
closed Road 3N14 to 3N16 and back to the trail? If permissible, this
would have the advantage of a shorter road walk plus water from the
creek at Little Bear.

I'll just stay tuned to see what others learn.
