[pct-l] Wilderness rules

The way people talk about Wilderness rules,
you would think that they all had Phd's in social science.

The Olympic National forest went many years without toilets.
claiming the righteousness of being right.

All the heavily used campsites, that you paid for are surrounded
by rocks with little piles of toilet paper sticking out. :-)

If everyone was not in such a hurry hiking through Eagle Creek
on the Columbia River you would see the same rocks and toilet
paper. Sometimes folks skipped the rocks. :-)

One would ask how having such a delightful view within 20 ft.
of your campsite enhances the wilderness experience. It makes no difference
how far away YOU went to relieve yourself, the views near your campsite are
still the same.

In the Upper Enchantments of Washington state, you can observe how far
folks would go to relieve themselves by noticing where the goats were
licking the dirt for the salt content. :-)

The bureaucrats who made the rules are probably sitting in their private
offices with private bathrooms. These are the same folks that ignore
all the waste on the trails left by the private outfitters who claim that
their waste is "blessed by God and tradition "

The urine pools on the Bright Angel trail in the Grand Canyon are
further examples of a standard that others are not held to.

"I hike alone sometimes. Its during these Mike Aken
solo hikes that the number of arrogant N7OUJ
and ignorant people I have to deal
with is reduced to one".
