NOTE that the pcta.org says:
PCT has been closed due to fire in the Lassen Forest from Highway 70
to Highway 36. Check back for further information. Should you need
immediate information call Alamnor Ranger District, Chester
530-258-2141
(Hwy 70 is mile 1289, Hwy 36 is mile 1335)

The guy the does the WISE fire blog says this about the Cub fire:
"Cub Complex Fires SW of Chester, 1,600 acres. The Onion Fire has high
potental to close Cal Highway 32 in the next 1 to 3 days, which is the
primary link between Chico and Chester. The Cub fire has a high
potential to grow into a long duration (multiple team rotations)
incident."
