Did the Grand Canyon ''Tanner-New Hance Loop'' over the Memorial Day
Weekend.
The Canyon was spectacular as always.
It has been some time since I last did the Tanner-New Hance loop and
had forgotten how tough that trail is.
It was a struggle all the way to the top......seems like the trails are
getting tougher every year.
My wife says ''it's not the trails.....it's old age....your getting old.''
Yeah, well, she might be right, but I'm not so sure about that.
I remember distinctly the first time I hiked Mt. Whitney, in 1968, the
official height was listed as 14,494 feet.
Then later it was listed as 14,495 and now it is listed as 14,496.7 feet.
Seems to me like overwhelming evidence of Tectonic Plate movement and
up-lifting.

IT IS NOT OLD AGE......It's uplifting.......the mountains are
getting higher.....that's why the trails are getting tougher.

I feel much better now, realizing that it is up-lifting and old age has
nothing to do with it.
This is great news for all of us Sr. Citizen hikers.
