i was going to just give in and take my Nikon D80 or D70 DSLR and not worry
about the weight, but i recently purchased the new Nikon P5100, it only
weights 7 oz and you can buy a wide angle lens for it (which i did). The
camera is capable of producing 20x30 prints, the images ive gotten testing
it out are fantastic, so you photographers getting ready for your thru hike
should take a look at this if your cringing from the weight your DSLR is
going to add to your base weight, one more note, if your more of a Canon fan
there is the new G9 out that is also a great light weight alternative, cya
on the trail
