How about a survey of hikers as they pass through key areas - No names need be 
given, just answer a couple of questions:

 * Start date.
 * Did you attend the ADZKO
 * Did attending the ADZKO affect your chosen start date.
Or:
 * Did the ADZKO herd effect alter your start date.
