As already stated, I wear Chacos (with socks – socks are important). My
packweight was 35 lbs fully loaded with seven days food and two liters of
water. I wore Wright socks, but am switching to Injinji toe socks.

Subject: [pct-l] hiking sandals?

Alright, this is a question that is growing out from the camping shoe
thread.

What kind of sandals do you guys hike in (Merell, Chaco, Keen) and what is
your pack weight?

I think I've got an ~ 15lbs base weight and have been considering looking
into some sandals for the desert, but wasn't sure if my pack was too heavy.

Also, if I did go with sandals, what would I need to do to protect my feet
(hygeine etc.)
