I think you're suppose to drain the gas tank and put it up on blocks too, aren't you? O/w the tires get "flat spots" or something, and the gas gets gooey???

I used to owe a Dodge Colt that sat on an island for 6 months to 1 year without being started. It always sprang to life without any problem. (Once the battery was jumped).....

BUT, when you do that remember to make sure you have your radio code or any codes you need for the alarm to be accessible again. I did not have (or know I needed) that information when I disconnected the battery in my Honda a few years ago and I had to have Honda get into the computer system and get my radio and alarm system running for me. Normally a one hour labour charge but they were nice enough to do it for free. :)

You probably should unhook the battery cables. All the modern electronics in
a todays cars will drain the battery in a couple of months.

I believe it's recommended to add something to your gasoline to keep it from breaking down into weird things that can clog your fuel line and/or injectors. There's a product called Stabil (I think that's it). I would add it to the tank and then drive it for a few minutes to suck it into the fuel line, fuel pump, and injectors. You may want to check into whether it's recommended to disconnect the battery...? Good luck with it. Len Glassner wrote:

Has anyone let their vehicle sit, unstarted, for 5 months, to no bad
effect?
