You have the right to continue the insurance from your current job under 
a federal law called COBRA for 18 months.  You must pay the full cost to 
your employer (about $350/month), but this is likely to be less than you 
can get in the way of private insurance with a similar deductible and copay.

There are also short term policies out there for folks who are between 
jobs, but they tend to have high deductibles.
