SCOTT & JOE have done it again!!!
They have set a new record for a PCT without support team by finishing
in 71 days, 2 hrs, 41 minutes and beating Joe's 2007
record of 79 days, 21 hrs, 42 minutes by 8 days, 19 hrs, 1 minute.
They departed Campo, on a hot sunny day, June 8, 2008 at 12:45 PM and
arrived at Manning Park, Canada on a rainy day Aug 18, 2008 at 3:26 PM.

Joe lost about 50 lb, while Scott, always lean, lost hardly any.
Joe is a firm believer in Switchback's pre-stored calories method and it
seems to work well for hi
They are on the way to Seattle now with Dusty, who picked them up at the
border, and are stopping at every restaurant along
the way.....Joe is a firm believer in calorie stocking.
Scott and Joe thank everybody for their support and Joe will post a
report upon his return.

Seventy one days in the wilderness, without a stove, cranking 40 miles a
day....amazing....truly amazing.
They are truly two of Americas premier backpackers.
