I'm planning my first long distance hike (oregon section of the PCT) towards the end of this summer and i won't to make sure if i see a Bigfoot that i get a good picture of him... I have a digital SLR but at 2.5 lbs, it weighs more than my sleeping bag... how miserable will i be if i take it with me.  I'd like to get some uber pictures because i don't know if i'll ever try something like this again.
