I read or heard, sometime in the past 10 months or so, that Caltrans had
finally started repairing CA-2 (Angeles Crest Hwy), so hikers that decide to
walk part of it may run into the same highway worker opposition that happened a
couple of times in 05, according to pct-l postings. I doubt they'll chase ya
though, so make sure your training includes running with your pack on!

Until today, I had nothing on Section D, and still have nothing except
what Donna just sent me today (North Fork, Mill creek Summit, and Mattox
Canyon had water). I'm just guessing that the snow is starting to melt in
earnest, and, from what I've seen on Mt. Baldy, that the north side of
Baden Powell probably has quite a bit of snow. Again, JUST GUESSING. If
the snow is too difficult up there, Highway 2 has been closed for years
and doesn't make a bad road walk around the worst of the snow. I suspect
as the snow goes away hikers like Big Daddy D will be sending in water
reports. Thanks!
