Amanda,
In the Wilderness First Aid class I recently took (second time), they
discouraged the use of adhesives/glue and instead recommended "steri-strips"
which look like strips of medical tape about 1/8th" - 1/16th" wide. They
work similar to butterfly closures. Over that goes a waterproof clear
adhesive pad (Nexcare/3M puts one out that's "breathable, keeps out dirt and
germs, waterproof..."). Most important was irrigation of wounds with clean
water before closing them up.
I'm carrying a few more first aid items than before, and truly hope they are
packweight that never gets used.

Subject: [pct-l] Wound closer
Does anyone have experience comparing Super Glue to surgical Topical Skin
Adhesive for wound closer. Does anyone know how or where to get Topical
Skin Adhesive? I see references to it on the WEB but it looks like you have
to be a doctor to buy it.
Thanks
Amanda
