I've noticed something odd. When ever they talk about *me* being Paranoid
they always capitalize the "P". Hmmmmmm.....

Why is someone using the word "paranoid" considered rude?? It's just a word
that describes a state of mind. And you don't know whether or not the
person who used the word was being derogatory and judgmental or whether they
were just stating a fact without judgment. If I remember the post where
this word was used, it didn't seem judgmental or derogatory to me at all.
I'm paranoid about flying. Yes, I use the word paranoid because statistics
show that airplanes crash on the order of about 1 in one million take-offs
and landings. My chances of winning the lottery are on the same order of my
chances of dying in a plane crash. So I consider myself paranoid. To me
that's just a statement of fact, no judgment, no blaming, just the way I am.

How rude to call someone's attempt to help another fellow (female) hiker
"paranoid". And no, I don't allow you.......Nor do I feel the need to
insult anyone else's advice to Meagan. My comments resulted from 3 years of
in depth study and research and are the result of other women's suggestions
which helped me when I had the same concerns as Meagan when I began my hike.
I fail to see anything "paranoid" about my comments. They are simply based
on common sense and sound precautions, if you'll allow me.........
