Whoaaaa, I get A.D.D just thinking of all those pieces!  I'm glad it works for you, but I guess I'm trusting my history of never having lost my knife in over 5,000 miles.  I guard it with my life!  I keep my pack assembled like a mini- house.....a place for everything and everything in it's place.  Every pocket carries exactly the same thing every morning when I break camp.  Cuts down on the Alzheimers factor....

Also, never use moleskin and have never had problems using the SAK scissors to cut stuff.  I like em!  I use thread for dental floss as to me, dental floss is too thick and just slides off the tooth tartar anyway- due to the wax coating.  So my thread does double duty too and I find it more effective to get the grunge off my teeth.  Man, we're getting way too personal now!!

tiny but completely adequate single-blade knife on a string with my  
photon light (and a quarter-sized washer for opening my Garcia bear  
canister when I'm carrying it.)

If I lose that little knife (and I have), then I still have my other  
gear in other places and I'm not completely helpless in the cutting  
and spreading department.

This is offered only as a thinking point for anyone still trying to  
make this sort of decision ... YMMV, HYOH, etc.
