no i don't think so. the sierra's are only about 700 miles north of the
border. "Ray-day" is June 15th, that's the day that everyone say it's "safe"
to head into the Sierra's. I don't think that heading in any sooner would be
a good idea unless you have great map and trekking skills. most of the
sierras will still be covered in snow well into June.

I dont like snow much either. However, if we started in California and
worked our way up wouldnt it be warm enough and by the time we got further

I would love to go with you but I think that January is just to early for
me. My schedule is very open but as much as I would like a cool dessert I
don't like snow that much. but I do live in Washington as well, (Redmond) so
if you ever want to get out together let me know.

Heyy..yeah I have to go in January because I am taking the semester off from
school.  I am in a Physical Therapy Doctorate program at Northeastern
University and instead of working the semester off I decided I wanted to
hike the the trail.  The semester is from January-July.  Therefore I
unfortunately have to leave in January.  Is there any way you could start in
January?

Hey! My name is Jane and I am interested in thru-hiking the PCT in January
of 2008.  I am 21 years old and am actually go to school in Boston but am
taking the semester off.  I just decided that it would be amazing to do this
