Go to the site below to see the weight difference between the AL poles and
the carbon fiber poles for the solo MSR Hubba tent. It is a whopping 6.3
ounces. This is huge. It brings the Hubba into the 2.5 pound range for a
freestanding 360 degree view tent with side entry. Not bad at all.

If you have the two person Hubba, then the weight savings is 9.3 ounces over
the AL poles. Over half a pound in pole weight savings. The carbon fiber
poles for the Hubba are new to their line up. They have lots of carbon poles
for different tents. It looks to me like they can just about design any
replacement pole set you need. So, if you have tent you know you are going to
use for the 2007 campaign, then contact them and see if they can make you some
poles to save huge weights.
