Can'tQuite writes: Ha!ha!  Are we still talking about this trip???   Yes, you 
are revealing a new but very traditional backpacking secret.  I  find 
preparing three months in advance with dinner in fine restaurants (more  calories) is 
really the key.

Yes, that is what is what makes the PCT-L so unique and  entertaining.  It is 
not just about bus schedules and snow level  predictions, but some hiking 
humor and backpacking satire too.  A well  rounded site as long as folks are not 
mean spirited. 
 
There is a restaurant here in Las Vegas called Michael's.  Dinner  for two 
runs about $300-400.  You can take me there sometime.  I was  going to treat 
MeadowsEd there when he was in town, but we did not have time to  stop by.  What 
is interesting about this restaurant is that the lady's menu  does not have 
any prices on it.  The place is located in the South Point  Casino just as you 
come into town on I-15 from LA.
