[pct-l] Food Storage in Washington?

Just finished a section hike in the High Sierra and sent our bear cans
home. We are now heading up to Cascade Locks for a section hike
of Washington's PCT.  Is it necessary to hang food?  Are bears an issue?
Other fun critters?
