[pct-l] bear canisters

In      In 2003 I carried a canister from Kennedy Meadows to Echo Lake, I never saw a bear during that time, but I saw two rangers at and        tuolumme. Neather one asked me if I had a bear canister. They both were very much in awe of thru hikers.

  What is the experience of other thru hikers, what have you done in the past? Rangers have told me the bear boxes are used mostly by the thru hikers. Is this how it's done?
