[pct-l] Suggestions on considering the use of hiking poles

I tried ski poles with a heavy pack. They convinced me to try trekking
poles.
I now use ultralight carbonfibers made by Komperdell for REI. $100 on a
perpetual sale.
No shock absorber.
The lighter my pack gets the less benefit I get from them.
Most day hikes, including high elevation gains, I don't use them.
