Thanks for everyone's comments about their hiking
shoes. I am thinking about going with The North Face
Ultra 103s. Anyone have any comments about these
shoes?

Also, is anyone still using the self-inflating foam
pads (Thermarest) through the desert sections? Or is
most everyone using closed-cell foam pads?
