[pct-l] WAS: parlez-vous français ? NOW: BACK TO THE STORM

Awww.. I thought I was reading a message from the 18 year old French girls at Donna's place!
(doesn't seem very sexy now...)
The sky here in Irvine has begun to turn ugly. It was sunny & blue when I last looked outside... Sat images are showing a small (relatively) clump of heavy clouds coming through. Seems to be feeding off itself just off the image boundary to the west.

Mike,
You got it more or less right. Oh, btw, Cyrille's a guy....aka "French Bob"
;-) . And a "col" is a pass.
Cyrille had some difficulty in his initial PCT adventure, but has now risen
to seasoned section-hiker status, with (is it already three????)
springs/summers of PCT travel under his feet.
And it's finally started to POUR in Sclarita - just talked to another friend
in Agua Dulce who told me it poured all night up there. But the weekend
might produce some fine, albeit cold/damp, hiking.
I hope these Frenchwomen take the hint & go to Yosemite.

If I remember my high school French (I certainly remember my high school
French teacher! Oui! Oui!)
Let' see...
(totally paraphrasing here...)
I'm confirming to you with this communication of the PCT (I assume she means
"by this e-mail to the PCT-L), that trying to cross the Sierra Nevada from
KM so early in the year presents a great risk. I have made (hiked) the PCT
in it's entirety...and something about doing this with difficulty during
summer storms.. in April of 2005 close to San J which was (could be?)
dangerous without a GPS and something about not having experience of
mountains in the winter. She knows about someone who hiked the Sierra in May
named Skeaky...who did this with exceptional "energy and
determination"...arriving at VVR from KM after loosing 5 kilos of weight...
When snow covers the way, it's impossible without a GPS...she acknowledges
Donovan's death in the San J's due to too much snow and bad
decisions...finding his body in May 2006. She doesn't want t o alarm us, but
this is the same 11 ...something (couloir?)... passes to KM.. when the snow
covers the way it's impossible without a GPS
Wait- she's repeating herself! Again with Donovan...
Then....
At the high passes, like Forrester, in the high altitudes the smallest
snowstorm can turn into a catastrophe. Do not hesitate to contact me for
other questions.
I can't believe I remember the lessons! I had such a schoolboy crush on that
French teacher! Plus she was the high school Backpacking Club advisor! Miss
Teaverbaugh *sigh*
Damn, French even sounds sexy when read!

message for the french girls at the Saufleys, in
FRENCH!
bonjour,
