Getting directly to Sequoia from the PCT is challenging -- it means
crossing the Great Western Divide, with passes at 12000 ft, and you
are coming from Kern Canyon, below 7000 ft. However, it's not so
hard to get to Road's End in King's Canyon by descending Bubbs Creek
after you cross Forester Pass. The road from there goes through Grant
Grove, which has big trees, and it isn't that much farther to the
big trees in Sequoia. And Kings Canyon itself is pretty amazing.
