Andrew,

If you are starting at San Gorgonio Pass and going to Palm Springs, WHY are
you climbing San Jacinto (10 miles and 7500 foot climb), then looking for a
way down off a dangerous mountain? Palm Springs is about 10 flat miles from
San Gorgonio Pass.

Just curious.

Andy
Being an experienced Canyoneer ( www.canyoneering.net ), and familiar
with the less frequented areas of the local mountains, any XC option
should be off your list.

Please don't attempt to go down any canyon without knowing what is down
there. You can quickly get yourself into a life threatening situation.

If I went there and do plan to someday I'd bring along with 3 or 4
experienced Canyoneers 400 to 800 ft of rope, 50-100ft of tubular
webbing, 12 rapides, bolting gear, harnesses, helmets, wetsuits, stealth
rubber shoes, etc.....

There is a route by the tram, I have never taken it. Let me research it
and get back to you......
