[pct-l] Crossing the Sandy

Folks planning to hike the PCT north of Mt. Hood this year may want  
to check out this thread on Portland Hikers forum. This thread  
describes a day hiker's observations of storm damage along the Sandy  
River and Muddy Fork north of Timberline Lodge.  This area is hard to  
get to this winter because the flood washed out a bridge and closed  
the access road.  PDX Gene had to ford the frigid Sandy to bring you  
these pix.  The PCT crossing of these two rivers may be more  
difficult than usual due to flood damage.  Near the end of the  
thread, Ron Goodwin, who coordinates the volunteer trail maintenance  
effort on this PCT section weighs in.  Ron's got your back, thru-hikers!
