[pct-l] Hiking Kilts

I too am curious about wearing a kilt on the PCT. I switched to a Mountain
Hardwear kilt this year on the AT at Daleville, VA, and never looked back.
In the desert however, I plan on having my legs covered to avoid sunburn,
and help keep cool. I am now considering wearing a long skirt made out of
lightweight polyster. Surely I can find some white polyster with a sweet
design on it, cut the fabric to make a proper shape, and then add some
velcro to secure at the waist. Perhaps some stitching down the side, and
have a long manskirt! Infinitely more breathable than pants, more coverage
than a kilt, and damn stylish!

However...I'm definitely worried about hitching while wearing a full-length
skirt. Before I was planning on taking a pair of windpants along, but now
I'm hoping to leave them behind in leu of saving weight. Perhaps they would
be a good idea to have something presentable to switch into for hitching
into town? But man do I hate compromises for ideals I don't agree with!
