Yes, very true.? But for 40 years I have been hiking with a waist pack and find it very nice.? I easy keep my full backpack under 20 pounds this way.? Plus, I used a store credit for the new waist pack, so I did not feel bad about the price.?It is just what makes you happy on the trail.
