I went out a few times and didn't see anything, but just as I was almost in 
bed, I went out bleary eyed and stumbling into the dark to see a pretty good 
one flash up in the sky.  I could have sworn it made a whizzing noise, but 
that must have just been my tired mind playing tricks on me.

I am jealous that you can see the MilkyWay from where you live, though.  :)
