Oh yes! I still get bags of M&M "hash" (crushed, remelted and
solidified) -- if there are any left... Especially tasty when combined
with peanuts!
Back in college days, we backpacked with bars of "Tropical Chocolate"
that didn't melt in the heat. Hershey's developed it for use in WWII.
Apparently, it was re-formulated in the 1990s for use in Desert Storm
and re-named "Desert Bar." It supposedly has a melting point of 140°F.
But I couldn't find any sources that sold it. Anybody else know about
this or have a source? Seems like an interesting option for
chocoholics...
