A double yo-yo?! A yo-yo-yo?! I've been dreaming of that! An excuse to stay

out there on the trail longer. Sign me up baby! Scott

I told him down at the Campo PCT monument when he finished that I could not
imagine doing two 30-miles days in a row. He had been punching them out for
months. More like 30-40 miles per day. Beyond my comprehension. I cannot
grasp the enormity of the accomplishment.

I told my wife and my old hiking partner, Rattlesnake, that it was the
greatest thing I had ever seen or will see in hiking. Historical. Glad I drove
down from Las Vegas.

I know. We need a one calendar year Yo-Yo-Yo challenge for the PCT. Let's
see what should be the prize? I will throw in two nights for two at the
Julian Orchard Hill Country Inn. I have stayed there when I have attended the
April Kickoff at Lake Morena. It is super nice. First class. My kind of
place.

Of course, you are probably thinking what is a Trail Pirate staying at a
place that offers for dinner fine wine, Kiev style, free range breast of chicken
(with basil and feta cheese stuffing and parmesan cream sauce), grilled
portabello mushrooms Napoleon, dry rubbed grilled Brandt's all natural prime
tri-tip (with Bordelaise sauce), Orchard Hill crab cakes, fresh baked country
rolls, grilled Colorado prime lamb (with garlic rosemary rub), and the Orchard
Hill signature bread pudding (with lemon sauce and chantilly cream).

Oh, I almost forgot the Orchard Hill signature salad to begin things. It is
mixed organic spring greens, roasted walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and herb
vinaigrette. By the way, there is a dress code for dinner. Also, I have gotten
my massages there too. Very nice. The lady who does them is a local and
know lots of stories about the area.

I just answered your question about staying there. I could be down at Lake
Morena with all the grubby backpackers munching on some stale GORP or
staying at a nice warm dry place with fine linen and crystal water glasses. Then
in the morning I can put on some old clothes and head down to Lake Morena and
act like I am a mountainman/woman backpacker like everyone else. I can hold
seminars on gear and techniques and tell stories about my adventures on the
trail. The scam is too cool.
