Carl,

You haven't seen a rain fly used by a long-distance hiker in years?  I guess you missed a number of us this year!  I know of at least 5 different thru-hikers that used the Big Agnes Seedhouse this year on trail and it utilizes a rain fly as the entire interior tent is made of mesh.  Great lightweight (no not ultra-light) tent that offers many benefits.
