A massive Mt. Whitney expedition  with oxygen bottle is coming up.
 
I will be starting up the trail on  Wednesday, September 6 to camp at Out 
Post Camp for acclimation.  Next will  be a Thursday hike up to 12,000 foot Trail 
Camp.
 
Then a maximum effort Friday to the top for an over night stay to see the  
sunset and the sunrise on Saturday morning.  An orderly retreat will be  made 
Saturday morning to the Mt. Whitney Portal parking lot.
 
I will check in to the Dow Villa  Motel for R&R and much partying.  Of 
course, dinner will be at the  Merry-Go-Round restaurant Saturday evening to 
celebrate this great  victory.  I might even drive up to Bishop on Saturday afternoon 
to go to  the bakery to bring some stuff home on Sunday morning.
 
Yes, this has the makings of a  great adventure and copious amounts of fun.  
I will have my latest  backpacking ideas and gear on this expedition.
