[pct-l] Go unleaded!!!

I have every stove type known to man. All carry some advantage. ( to each
his own) There is no fuel cheaper and easier to attain than unleaded gas in
the U.S. hands down. Alcohol and tablet stoves are built with lightness as
their top appeal. People complain about an ounce here or there. I say take
anything that lives on unleaded and you can't go wrong. I knew hikers that
packed lawn chairs the whole way to Canada. Old time hikers were known to
pack several books, top hats and just about anything else that was worthless
for the hike. People who cut down toothbrush handles and pulled off tea bag
tags were the minority, now they would be Guru's. If your stove is 3 oz's or
3 pounds, it won't make a difference on your success. ( only if it fails or
is made worthless by lack of fuel) And then it still would be just an
inconvenience . I belong to the school of thinking that thinks its cool to
pack a watermelon to the top of Rainier or seeing a hiker 50 miles from any
road sitting in a lawn chair with other hikers saying " Hey, Where's the
Motorhome ". After carrying ( and seeing!!) dozens of hikers with 70 plus
pound packs in days gone by, I get a kick out of hearing people splitting
hairs over oz's. ( I wish I now had the time to rehike the PCT so I could do
it carrying a brick so I would have something flat to set my tablet, alcohol
or whatever stove on !!! )
